Spring Breeze Lookbook: Concept Statement and Inspiration

For our Lookbook Project, Keykeana and I plan on photographing current spring trends. We have named our look book Spring Breeze, for the fact that the direction of our clothing geared more towards simple, understated looks that easily coincide with a few current trends we are seeing on the streets and the runway.

We will be hosting our shoot at Venice Beach, where we want to capture that true LA atmosphere and essence. Our clothing will be donated by an LA based boutique called Swagg Boutique. The owner was generous enough to let us some of his pieces for our shoot. Prices of these garments will be displayed in our look book as well. Our models will consist of 2 ladies and 2 guys and will be shot by a professional photographer of whom I know and am still in constant contact with. Along with the photographer, we will have hair and makeup touches provided to our models by both Keykeana and I. Our color scheme consists of but not limited to corals, nudes, whites, teals, golds, blacks, and blushes. This look book will be a reflection of what we both think and feel represents spring trends at the moment. Below, we have a mood board of what we are aiming for our shoot to come out like as well as inspiration.

Visual Board Project #2

visual board project #2

For project #2, I chose to create a visual board for my own upcoming store, Sinister instead of choosing an existing one. I hope that’s ok! My inspiration for my store layout is urban chic, integrating classic color schemes and prints with street art and vintage photography. I wanted to keep my colors clean so I could keep the focus of the eye on the clothing. For wall decor, I want to display various pictures of vintage fashion photography throughout my store while having that edge still visible through simple street art. The space that I would like to have consists of exposed brick, hardwood floors, and the original infrastructure of the building. I want to keep the uniqueness of the space while incorporating an updated and modern twist to balance out the space. Having a space like this will help keep the theme of my store. As for clothing, you can see I have different styles that I would like to carry. The style I’m going for is the urban girl who loves modern chic, where she can blend her beanies with her blazer. She is the sneaker head who is not afraid to rock 6in heels.

Logo Rebranding – Fresh&Easy

I would like to rebrand Fresh and Easy’s logo. As a shopper, I do enjoy fresh&easy’s concept of homemade foods and local food products. I think they have a great balance of incorporating their local neighborhood food products yet still carrying consumers favorite name brand products. They definately appeal to the younger, more modern audience specifically the young middle class family or the college freshman who shops on a budget. Fresh&Easy however does have the same demographic as their competitor, Trader Joe’s who claims to pride their products of being 100% organic or close to it. The difference I see in Fresh&Easy though is their commitment to their easy flowing brand and the simple tasks they pride their stores into having, which I feel appeals to a more broader even specific audience. Their logo is actually really clean and simple, but I want a chance to add a supplemental logo that will grab the attention of more consumers. One thing that I can appreciate in a branding logo is how eye catching it is to me and I feel Fresh&Easy has that potential to be even more of a favorite store and brand for consumers.

Holiday Looks

I love the holidays because it gives you an excuse to dress up and look gorgeous! Below I have some of my favorite outfit ideas for any holiday occasion whether it be a work party or a family dinner. Enjoy loves!

  • Sequin Statement: I love sequins anytime of the year but more so during the holidays. It definately gives you a look of sexiness yet classy if styled right. Go all out with a gorgeous mini dress or style a pair of sequin shorts with a cute colored top to give it more of a pop

  • Leather Pleated Skirt: One of the hottest trends right now are leather pleated skirts. It’s a simple piece that can be dressed up for a holiday event or toned down for a friend get together. I am loving pairing this with printed tights to give a dressed up look more unique

  • Oversized Chic: Over sized sweaters are the easiest pieces to style, especially if you are running low on outfit ideas for a specific event. It’s the perfect go to item. You can easily dress this up or dress it down for any occasion

  • Maxi Skirts: They are not just for summer time! Maxi skirts can add a chic twist to your outfit, especially with a killer pair of heels. Adding a pop of color to your maxi skirt can give instant color or pair it with a leather jacket to rough up your look

  • Jeans: One of the most essential pieces you must have in your wardrobe, no matter how many! Yes, jeans are still appropriate for the holidays ladies. If I wanna spruce up my look, I usually head for the printed jeans instead of the regular denim to give my look something different. When in doubt about the formal-ness of your jeans, go for prints!

The Military Jacket

one trend that I cant get enough of is the military jacket. it has become extremely popular this Fall and I have to say that I just ordered mine off of ebay lol and am eager for colder days to wear it. thrifted or brand new, military jackets are one of the more simple pieces you can add to your wardrobe and make it so versatile. they come in so many styles that its so easy for you to personalize it to your style.

until next time..
